🚨 TWO HPD OFFICERS UNDER TEXAS RANGERS INVESTIGATION 🚨 According to newly released court records, the Texas Rangers are investigating two Houston police officers over allegations that a GPS tracking device was secretly attached to a vehicle without a warrant. Authorities are reportedly examining possible violations involving unlawful installation of a tracking device and official oppression. (ABC13 Houston) The investigation centers on a September 2025 surveillance operation in northwest Houston. Court records state that video footage allegedly captured HPD Officer Juan Gonzalez approaching a pickup truck and attaching a tracking device near the rear wheel well. The footage was later provided to investigators. (ABC13 Houston) Investigators say no warrant was obtained for the tracking device. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office reportedly confirmed that no tracking order was sought. (ABC13 Houston) Records show Sgt. Peter Vu received a 15-day suspension without pay, while Gonzalez resigned from HPD in April. Both officers initially denied involvement before later admitting they had not been truthful during an internal inquiry, according to court records. No criminal charges have been filed at this time. (ABC13 Houston) This case highlights a question that should concern everyone regardless of politics: If police believe they have enough evidence to track someone’s movements, why not obtain a warrant and let a judge review the facts? The investigation remains ongoing. #Houston #HPD #TexasRangers #Accountability #CorruptionWatchTexas
