🚨 I thought this was fake at first 🚨 ✅ FACT CHECK FRIDAY ✅ A Florida traffic stop is getting attention nationwide after a deputy cited a woman for allegedly holding a cellphone in her RIGHT HAND while driving. 😳 Thing is… She doesn’t have a right hand. According to court records and body camera footage released after the stop, the Palm Beach County woman repeatedly told the deputy she could not have been holding a phone in her right hand because she was born with a limb difference and does not have a right hand. Despite that, the citation was issued anyway. The citation carried a $116 fine and accused her of violating Florida’s wireless communications while driving law. She challenged the ticket. This week, the citation was dismissed at the request of the deputy who issued it, with court records indicating the case was dropped due to a lack of evidence. Here’s a question, when an Officer is OBVIOUSLY caught making up probable cause for a stop (he specifically said “right hand”), should that be treated as harshly as if a citizen had made a false report? For the victim here (and that’s how I see her) the situation is no different. We have a 4th amendment for a reason and when it is [mis]treated as we are seeing so often today, it’s a problem! No matter how much the “if you’re not doing anything wring” crowd would have you think otherwise. What do you think? Should officers face additional review when a citation is issued for something that appears to be physically impossible? #Accountability #BodyCam #TrafficStop #Florida #DueProcess #CorruptionWatchTexas
